HQBroker is not registered to sell securities in Ontario, the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) warned investors on Friday.
The unregistered firm is actively soliciting investors in the province, the OSC states in an investor alert.
“HQBroker manages the website hqbroker.com, where it claims to offer a variety of trading solutions to retail and institutional investors through contracts for difference, derivatives and forex currency pairs,” the alert states.
Ontario investors that have been approached by the firm’s representatives are urged to contact the regulator.
Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) recently issued its own warning to investors about the firm.
