AMF’s Morisset renewed as head of CSA

The OSC’s Jensen will chair the CSA’s Policy Coordination Committee for another two years

Canada’s umbrella group of securities regulators, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), will continue to be led by Louis Morisset for the next couple of years.

The CSA has extended Morisset’s term to March 31, 2021. Morisset, president and CEO of Québec’s Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), was appointed CSA chair in March 2015.

“With the rapidly evolving financial environment, it is crucial we continue to work collectively to ensure effective and harmonized regulation and investor protections across the country,” Morisset said in a statement on Thursday.

The CSA also announced that Kevin Hoyt, executive director, securities, and CFO of New Brunswick’s Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB), has been appointed vice-chair of the CSA for two years.

Maureen Jensen, chair and CEO of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), will continue as chair of the CSA’s Policy Coordination Committee for another two years, as well.
