Dundee Capital Markets has been renamed Eight Capital following its acquisition by an employee-owned partnership, according to an announcement on Monday.
The sale of Toronto-based Dundee Corp.’s capital markets arm to this group of employees was finalized on Dec. 2.
“Eight Capital is a 100% principal-owned Canadian, full-service investment dealer. Our primary businesses include investment banking, equity research and institutional sales and trading,” states a note on Eight Capital’s website. “The partnership was created in December 2016 by a group of professionals with experience at leading Canadian bank-owned and boutique brokerages.”
